How does a roofing job with Power Roofing run?
Here is the usual path from first call to finished work, and what to ask along the way.
- You call or send the form. We respond quickly to all inquiries, typically within 24 hours or less. If water is coming in right now, say so: Power Roofing offers 24/7 Emergency Response.
- Free roof inspection. A useful inspection looks past the shingles or tiles: flashing at walls, chimneys and vents, the valleys, drainage, the deck where it can be seen, and water stains inside the house. Ask which problems are urgent and which can wait.
- Estimate and scope. The free estimate sets out what the roof needs: a repair, maintenance, or a replacement in the material you choose. On a replacement, the price depends on the roof’s size and pitch, how many old layers come off, how much decking needs repair, the material, and the flashing and ventilation work.
- Insurance, if damage is involved. After a storm or other sudden damage, we provide detailed damage documentation and work with insurance companies on claims.
- Permit. California’s building code requires a permit before a building is altered or repaired, and the details vary from city to city and county to county. Ask any roofer whose license the permit will be issued under. In the City of Los Angeles, reroof permits issued to Power Roofing under License #1073368 are public record in the Department of Building and Safety’s open permit data.
- The work. On a replacement, the old roofing comes off, the deck is checked and repaired where needed, and then the underlayment, flashings and new roof covering go on. We maintain strict safety protocols, require team training, use appropriate safety equipment, and follow OSHA guidelines.
- Final check and warranty. Permitted work closes with the building department’s final inspection. We warrant our installation craftsmanship against defects and coordinate with manufacturers on product warranties. Specific terms vary by service type, and we provide detailed warranty documentation at project completion.
How do you check a roofing contractor's license in California?
Look the license number up on the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) website before you sign anything. California contractors must show their state license number in their advertising and on every bid and contract, and the CSLB record shows the license status, its classifications, the address of record, workers’ compensation coverage and any complaint or disciplinary history.

CSLB also recommends these checks when a roofer comes to give you a bid:
- Pocket license and photo ID. Make sure the person in front of you is the person on the license. Salespeople must be registered with CSLB as Home Improvement Salespersons.
- Proof of insurance. Ask for a Certificate of Insurance. A contractor with employees must carry workers’ compensation; general liability is not required, but it is what covers damage to your property. We maintain comprehensive liability insurance, workers’ compensation coverage, and all required state certifications.
- Comparable written bids. Compare bids written on the same scope of work, and be wary of one far below the rest: it often leaves out work the others included.
- A business you can find later. A current address and phone number matter if something needs attention after the last payment. Ours are in the contact section below.
